Description and Requirements
- You write, organize, and maintain systems engineering blueprints and Infrastructure-as-Code based on designs.
- You engineer high-performance, scalable, repeatable, and secure deliverables with guidance.
- You participate in structured construction, automation, debugging, and implementation activities, ensuring architectural and operational requirements and best practices are met.
- You participate in disaster recovery planning and disaster recovery activities, participate in functional integration and regression testing and have the ability to automate test scripts.
- You resolve frequently encountered technical issues and monitor systems capacity with minimal assistance. You adhere to change and incident management standards and expectations.
- You’ll work closely across multiple internal and external organizations (Lenovo product engineering, business development, sales, marketing, partners, and internal technical communities) to position Lenovo for our most strategic opportunities and guide the value proposition and benefit to those stakeholders. A keen sense of ownership, a bias for action, drive, curiosity, and scrappiness are necessary.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with IT Enterprise Architects to develop roadmaps from strategy documents, carry out regular roadmap reviews, and own delivery of roadmap implementation projects.
- Create innovative Lenovo TruScale engineering solutions and designs within defined standards and architectures, ensuring that methods work holistically within more comprehensive solutions.
- Create build instructions for engineering designs, and support operations teams during implementation.
- Incorporate security-by-design into all solutions, ensuring that security requirements are considered concurrently with technical requirements.
- Practice and promote a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) culture to improve and operate TruScale service offerings to the enterprise while working toward innovation, automation, and operational excellence.
- Develop a base cross-functional technical knowledge allowing holistic thinking during design processes.
- Proactively seek out opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes and propose improvement activities.
- Create standardized processes and delivery methods to fulfill incoming demand.
Educational Qualification

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology, computer science, computer engineering, or another technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:

- Hybrid Cloud platforms such as VMWare, Openshift, Azure, or GCP.
- IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS operational support, including exposure to hybrid cloud services and technologies.
- Cloud technologies such as Rancher, Kubernetes, Argo CD, Argo Workflow, Helm, Terraform, Jenkins, Chef, and Service Mesh.
- DevSecOps tools such as GitLab, GitOps, Bitbucket, CI/CD Pipelines, Docker, Fortify, Sonarqube, Chef/Ansible, Terraform, Nexus, and Jenkins.
- Operating/supporting Cloud VM, Containerization, Orchestration tooling, and Server technologies, including management of services across a hybrid-cloud environment.
- Operating in a Continuous Integration environment.
- Working alongside developers and Operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in the following areas:
- Hybrid Cloud engineering experience with VMWare, RHEL OpenShift, or Azure.
- Architectural experience with VMWare, Azure, or RHEL OpenShift and familiarity with cloud-native design patterns and DevOps principles (Infrastructure as Code).
- DevSecOps experience.
- Software development experience in JAVA, Python or .net
- Preferred Certifications:
- VCAP: Cloud Management & Automation Design
- RHCE: OpenShift, or Kubernetes Specialization.
- VCP: Cloud Management & Automation Design
- RHCSA: OpenShift or Kubernetes Specialization
- Microsoft Certified Associate: Azure Stack Hub
- Google Cloud: DevOps Engineer.
